Request for Parthenon Marbles to Return for Bicentennial Independence Celebration

With all this news surrounding the Parthenon marbles lately, I felt like I needed to chime in. The fact that Greece has to even ask to borrow the Parthenon Marbles for the 2021 bicentennial celebration of Independence doesn’t sit well with me. But fine, let’s go with that. Greece is celebrating 200 years of Independence and the government wants the Parthenon Marbles displayed ON or WITH the Parthenon for this celebration – and the British Museum rejects that? Stating that a precondition of any loan would be for Greece to confirm that the British Museum has ownership of the marbles ? Excuse me, but Fuck You @britishmuseum. You can’t rightfully own anything that was stolen in the first place.
