FYROM Announces Proposed Options for a Name Change

FYROM’s prime minister, Zoran Zaev, has proposed four names as part of their current negotiation with Greece. FYROM is currently trying to enter both NATO and the European Union, and since Greece (like all members) has the ability to veto their admission, they’re pushing FYROM to change their name – you know, since Macedonia is GREECE and all. FYROM has already started renaming major highways and airports that currently use Greek Historical figures as a measure of good faith, but they have to go all the way.

Here are the proposed name changes all unacceptable in my opinion.

  • Republic of North Macedonia, Republic of Upper Macedonia, Republic of Vardar Macedonia and Republic of Macedonia (Skopje)

What do you think?
